My Ultra Last Minute Gift Guide, or: how to efficiently shop without sacrificing style or thoughtfulness

So Christmas is a week away, and to no surprise of mine, I have yet to purchase ANY Christmas gifts. While most people are running frantic by this time, I am keeping my cool and making my lists with thoughtful efficiency. I’ve gathered a few ideas together here to share. All available online and all within reasonable budgets! Hopefully my list makes your next week of shopping a little less hurried. (and for my family reading this – NO- I’m not giving away any surprises!)

For the world traveler:  Membership to Indagare.

“People do not want cookie-cutter experiences, they want to explore places in unique ways and to see, feel and taste things that are special and meaningful to them.”– Melissa Biggs Bradley, founder of Indagare.

views from Marrakech

Indagare is a exclusive travel website highlighting some of the most fabulous travel destinations and hotels in the world. Each destination features intinearires, hotels, shopping destinations, and “postcards” from members who have been there and bring you the inside scoop. The pictures are amazing- and for memberships costing $200-$3250 its the only travel guide you would ever need.

For the fashionista: Valorie Glitter Finish Anya Hindmarch Clutch

This sparkly little number would be a great match for any little black dress- or any trendy jewel tone ensemble. And of course bringing the style and perfection that Anya Hindmarch is known for. The holidays are an endless stream of social events- this clutch would take any girl from party to party in style. At $550 its a great buy for a special lady.

For your artsy design friend: Pantone Color of the Year Mug.

Pantone is the leading color authority in the design world, and every year they predict upcoming color trends. This year’s recently announced “Color of the Year” is Tangerine Tango. A spicy-yet-sweet orange/red that will bring some pizzaz to any wake up cup of joe. And at $25, its a great gift that won’t break the bank.

For the hostess with the mostess: Mariposa Cheese Tray

Chances are you will be attending quite a number of parties this year, and we would never want to forget to bring something extra for our wonderful hosts- who put all that effort into bringing us joy. When entertaining, I think you can never have enough pretty platters and trays, and I know any hostess would be happy with a guest to show up in the nick of time with an extra beautiful one for the table. This silver and wood one by Mariposa would match up with any decor. For $144 its an affordable treasure for fabulous parties.

For the guy who loves his gadgets:  Charity:Water Jambox Speaker

Not only is this little guy a great portable and powerful speaker, but $50 of each $199 purchase goes to Charity:Water, a nonprofit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. So not only will your guy be happily blasting his tunes everywhere he goes, but you will also be giving back to a great organization- and isn’t that what the holidays are all about?

For those little kids: Books to Bed Matching Pajama/Book Set

In a world of computer games and plastic toys that break upon opening, make reading fun again, and tuck the little kids in on Christmas Eve with these adorable gift sets. From Angelina Ballerina, to Paddington Bear, all of you favorite classics from back in the day, can now be shared with a stuffed animal, pjs, and book. Now they will ask to read every time they put their pjs on! And for $50 its a gift they will always remember.

For our furry friends: New Serveware for Kitty and Fido

And of course lets not forget the “children” who bring so much joy to our lives. I’m sure humans aren’t the only ones who love the affordable aesthetic of Crate and Barrel. These Woof! and Purr! cat and dog bowls and mats are adorable for pets with discerning taste. Prices range from $3-$14. Its the least you could do for that cute face.
