Recently I stumbled upon the amazing work of Olson Kundig Architects and found myself completely entranced. This Seattle based firm completely encompasses the architectural aesthetic I love. A modern cubic style that relates to the landscape around it. Their use of raw construction materials create a modern vista that becomes one with natural the environment. Here are a few projects that I found especially inspiring.
From their website: “Olson started the firm based on some simple ideas: that buildings can serve as a bridge between nature, culture and people, and that inspiring surroundings have a positive effect on people’s lives.” It certainly had a positive impact on mine- and I have not even seen them in person. What do you think?
